Bookshelf by Wang Rui (Wangray). He says, ‘I like fairy tales very much. The painting depicts a story about a small hero coming to a bookshelf kingdom. This painting was inspired from a bookshelf. I think it is very often that the books can give us a kind of mystery and discovery feelings, so does a bookshelf. Furthermore, I also added a new idea of Lilliput, and the bookshelf becomes floating in the sky.’

Artist Rodney LaTourelle and landscape architect Thilo Folkerts collaborated on an art installation at Quebec’s Jardin de la Connaissance involving hundreds of books stacked as walls, rooms and benches that will eventually decay into their environment.
